The Caline CP-513 Simon Super Delay is a compact delay pedal with three voices: Digital, Analog and Tape. A single mode setting plus three knobs cover the whole pedal, and the Time control reaches from a tight 30ms slap to a full 1200ms of delay time1. It sits in Caline's budget line of delay pedals, alongside models like the Blue Ocean and the Drifter Seven Delays.
What it does
The CP-513 keeps things simple. Mix, Repeat and Time are, as Pedal of the Day put it, "the usual suspects here": Mix sets the level of the repeats against your dry signal, Repeat sets how many times they repeat, and Time sets the delay length anywhere in that 30ms to 1200ms range1.
The three modes change the character of the echoes. Pedal of the Day described the range this way1:
"The Digital, Analog and Tape modes give you a wide array of echoed sounds from which to create and explore, adding new dimensions to your playing and tone."
In practice that means one pedal covering clean, precise digital repeats, darker and softer analog-style repeats, and the wobble and wear of a tape-style echo, selected with a single switch rather than menus or secondary functions1.
Where it sits in Caline's delay line
Caline has built out a wide delay range over the years, and the Simon Super Delay is one of the simpler entries: three knobs and three modes, where models like the Ghost Rain pair delay with reverb and the CP-80 Ragnarok Reverb Delay adds separate reverb switching. Players who want more preset options in the same budget bracket can look at the G-010 Parrot Delay, the CP-63 Sidewinder Delay or the G-009 Chamecho Delay.
