The Caline G-009 Chamecho Delay is an analog delay pedal, a type that repeats your signal with the softer, darker character players associate with older echo units rather than the exact copies of a digital delay. Pedal of the Day, which reviewed it on 29 October 2023, describes it as "an analog delay" offering "warm, crunchy vintage repeats"1.
Caline's stated intent for the pedal is unusual: it is "made for stacking with your other delays for some really unique tones"1. Instead of replacing the delay already on your board, the Chamecho is designed to run alongside or in front of it, so the two units' repeats interact. That makes it a second-delay pedal rather than a do-everything one, and it sits in the maker's delay line alongside pedals like the Caline Ghost Rain, the Caline Blue Ocean and the Caline CP-513 Simon Super Delay.
"The Redbelly Tremolo and Chamecho Delay sound great on their own, but really come to life when you start stacking and mixing their unique tones."
