The Holy Wahcamoly is a wah pedal, described by its maker Dr. No Effects as a "Wah Wah (foot rocker) pedal," built to capture vintage wah character with original components1. It first appeared in 2013, went away for a long time, and has since returned in limited anniversary runs23. The pedal is 100% handmade by Dr. No in Eindhoven, which the maker calls "Eindhoven Rockcity"4.
Dr. No describes the design goal as "capturing the great vintage mystique, allong finding the best and original components"5. The maker says he "studied and played almost every Wah Wah to learn what makes the difference" before building it, and dedicated the pedal to his lost friend Peer Borgers, who lent his whole pedal collection to help create it4.
A handmade vintage-style wah
The Holy Wahcamoly is a rocker-style wah you work with your foot, in a heavy duty die cast housing with a powder coated surface1. The standard finish is green, with a 3D rubber feet mat and front logo, and a hand-silkscreened back plate1. Dr. No lists its weight as 1.8 g1.
The pedal's history runs in limited bursts. Dr. No introduced it as his newest wah pedal at a retail price of €339 / $4354, dedicating it to his lost friend Peer Borgers, who lent his whole pedal collection to help create it. Ten years after the first appearance of the Holy Wahcamoly, and after being away for a long time, Dr. No brought it back in a limited 10th anniversary run2. That anniversary run was treated with the old vintage Flock technique, an old processing method that creates a soft structure by applying flock by means of electrostatic charge3. In 2025 Dr. No reissued it again as a 10th Anniversary Flocked Edition, in which not just the enclosure but the red chicken-head knob is fully flocked6. The current series is available now2.
Availability has always been limited. The 2023 anniversary run was reservation only3, and the 2026 webshop listing states the pedal is a limited series31. If you want one, treat any availability as a window rather than a standing catalog item.
Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson reviewed the 2025 Flocked Edition and placed it firmly in the art-pedal camp6:
"I would say both of these are very much in the ’Art Pedal’ category - with that extraordinary attention paid to every part of the pedal."6
He also described its sound as "delivering rich harmonics and superior low end response for killer classic tones"6. Dr. No's own description calls the pedal extremely "noise free," with classic and classy tones, rich harmonics and superior low ends2.
The controls: three-position capacitor selector
The Holy Wahcamoly has one main control: a three-position capacitor change selector on the right side of the pedal1. Changing the capacitor in a wah circuit shifts the frequency range the sweep emphasizes, which is why Dr. No labels the settings by pickup type.
| Selector position | Voiced for |
|---|---|
| Down | Single coil, "Strat" a-like1 |
| Middle | In between the up and down positions1 |
| Up | Humbucker position1 |
Dr. No describes it as an output capacitor switch with three settings "to for ultimate WahWah sweetness," giving a variety of output filter tones that go well with humbucker, single coil and P90 style pickups34. The original 2013 pedal also included an added buffer circuit, so, in the maker's words, there was "No need to worry about positions and losing power and defenition of your Holy Wahcamoly when putting" it in an effects chain4.
Power and connections: 9V DC, external supply only
The pedal runs on 9V DC through a 2.1mm jack with a negative center, and Dr. No specifies an external power supply only: there is no battery option1. The maker also calls for a balanced power supply and explicitly rules out a One-Spot style supply1.
No battery and no daisy chain. The external-supply-only requirement means the Holy Wahcamoly needs its own power arrangement on your board, and the "No One-Spot" note rules out sharing a chain with other pedals23.
Jacks are simple: input on the right, output and the DC power input on the left1.
The Myth Halo 600mH inductor
The heart of the pedal is its hand-wound "Myth Halo" inductor, rated at 600mH1. The inductor is the component that gives a wah its characteristic voice, and vintage wah tone is widely associated with particular inductor designs. Dr. No has used the Myth Halo inductor in every version of the pedal, from the original 2013 announcement through the anniversary reissues43. Guitar Pedal X notes the 100% hand-made Wahcamoly features the hand-wound Myth Halo 600mH inductor6.

Questions
Does the Holy Wahcamoly take a battery?
No. Dr. No specifies an external power supply only, with no battery option. The pedal takes 9V DC through a 2.1mm jack with a negative center, so you need a dedicated supply on your board before you can use it.
Can the Holy Wahcamoly run from a daisy-chain power supply?
No. Dr. No specifies a balanced power supply and states that a One-Spot style supply should not be used. That rules out sharing a daisy chain with other pedals, so plan on an isolated output from a proper power brick.
Does the Holy Wahcamoly have a buffer?
Yes. The original 2013 Holy Wahcamoly included an added buffer circuit, which Dr. No said meant you did not need to worry about pedal order or losing power and definition when placing it in an effects chain.
Where is the Holy Wahcamoly made?
It is handmade by Dr. No in Eindhoven, which the maker calls Eindhoven Rockcity. The pedal is built in a heavy duty die cast housing with a powder coated surface, and the 10th anniversary edition adds a hand-silkscreened back plate.
Which capacitor setting is for humbuckers?
The up position. The three-position capacitor selector on the right side of the pedal is labeled with down for a single coil Strat-like voice, up for humbuckers, and the middle position as a setting between the two.
