The EarthQuaker Devices Arpanoid Polyphonic Pitch Arpeggiator is a pedal that takes the pitch of what you play and cycles it through an arpeggio pattern. Because it is polyphonic, it works on chords as well as single notes, and Vintage Guitar reported at its introduction that it has eight expandable modes1. It sits in the wider family of octave and pitch pedals, alongside related EarthQuaker Devices designs like the Arpanoid V2, the Bit Commander V2, the Tentacle V2 and the Pitch Bay.
Controls
The Arpanoid's controls cover the shape, speed and mix of the arpeggio cycle1:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Step | Selects the number of notes in the sequence |
| Rate | Adjusts the speed of the cycle |
| Toggle | Changes the direction of the cycle |
| Wet | Adjusts the level of the effected signal |
| Dry | Adjusts the level of the clean signal, for blending the mix |
The Wet and Dry controls together set the levels and the mix, so you can run the arpeggio alongside your clean tone or on its own1.
