The EarthQuaker Devices Bellows Legacy Reissue Mini is a limited reissue of the company's discontinued Bellows Fuzz Driver, rebuilt in a compact mini enclosure as part of EarthQuaker Devices' Legacy Reissue Series12. It keeps the same two-transistor circuit as the original, which ran from a limited first run until it was discontinued in 201913. The reissue is limited to 1,000 units worldwide23.

Guitar Pedal X describes the pedal as sitting between categories: a "Fuzzy-Drive, Fuzz-Drive and Fuzzstortion pedal with Overdrive characteristics"1. EarthQuaker Devices says that at lower drive levels it is a little wider and grittier, while higher drive settings reach blown-out fuzz land through useful distorted places4.

What it is and what it does

The original Bellows was a Fuzz Driver, a fuzz pedal with the character of an overdrive at lower settings. EarthQuaker Devices founder Jamie Stillman says of the circuit:

"It retains the big bottom end and biting crunchy top end without overly accentuating or scooping the mids."

Premier Guitar3

Stillman also notes where the pedal fits best:

"While I initially developed it for guitar, I feel like it really excels on bass."

Premier Guitar3

The Legacy Reissue carries the same circuit as the original, per Premier Guitar, so the sound is unchanged from the discontinued version3. What is new is the outside: a compact, space-saving enclosure with brand-new artwork by illustrator Geoff Crowe2.

Controls

ControlWhat it does
DriveControls the input gain of the device for different levels of dirt. Thinner and more clean counterclockwise, thicker with more growl clockwise4
LevelSets the output level3

Limited run and colorways

The run is limited to 1,000 units worldwide23. The standard worldwide colorway is red and white1, and there is also a Sweetwater special black on teal edition1.

Availability differs by region:

  • United States: sold exclusively through Sweetwater43
  • Canada: sold through Long & McQuade3
  • Elsewhere: authorized EarthQuaker Devices dealers3

The artwork on the enclosure is by Geoffrey Crowe4.

The original Bellows is no longer in production, per EarthQuaker Devices' own product page5, and Guitar Pedal X reports it was discontinued in 20191. The Legacy Reissue is a limited run, so once the 1,000 units are gone the circuit goes back out of the lineup.

Power and impedance

EarthQuaker Devices specifies a standard 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel4. The maker's warning is blunt:

"DO NOT RUN AT HIGHER VOLTAGES!"

The Bellows Legacy Reissue takes a standard 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel4. EarthQuaker Devices is blunt about the limits: the manual warns "DO NOT RUN AT HIGHER VOLTAGES!"4. On the impedance side, the pedal presents a 250 kΩ input impedance and an output impedance under 1 kΩ3.

Impedance figures come from Premier Guitar: 250 kΩ input impedance and under 1 kΩ output impedance3.

Bellows Jr. versus the Legacy Reissue Mini

Two mini versions of the Bellows appeared in 2026. Bellows Jr., covered by Delicious Audio on 2 July 2026, brought the pedal back in a mini enclosure because people kept asking for it6. Days later, on 6 July 2026, the Legacy Reissue Mini was announced as a limited 1,000-unit run in the Legacy Reissue Series12. Both trace back to the same discontinued circuit; the Legacy Reissue is the numbered, limited edition with the new Geoff Crowe artwork2.

What reviewers said

Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson, who owned an original Bellows acquired in 2020, a year after it was discontinued, called the reissue:

"It's a decent fuzzy-driver for sure - where I have other preferences too, but it's worth a consideration!"

Guitar Pedal X1

On price, Guitar Pedal X lists the Bellows Legacy Reissue Mini at $129 in the USA and £138 in the UK1. The same reviewer's overall verdict: "It's a decent fuzzy-driver for sure - where I have other preferences too, but it's worth a consideration!"1

Questions

Is the Bellows Legacy Reissue Mini the same circuit as the original Bellows?

Yes. Premier Guitar reports that the limited-edition Bellows features the same circuit as the original, a two-transistor design. What has changed is the enclosure: the reissue comes in a compact, space-saving mini format with new artwork by illustrator Geoff Crowe.

How many Bellows Legacy Reissue Minis were made?

The run is limited to 1,000 units worldwide, according to both Guitar Pedal X and Premier Guitar. Once those are gone, the pedal is not expected to return, since the original Bellows was discontinued in 2019.

What polarity does the Bellows Legacy Reissue Mini use?

It runs on a standard 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel, per EarthQuaker Devices. The maker warns not to run it at higher voltages, so stick to 9V.

What is the Sweetwater black on teal Bellows?

It is a special colorway of the Bellows Legacy Reissue sold through Sweetwater in the United States, with a black on teal finish instead of the standard red and white. In Canada the pedal is sold through Long & McQuade, and elsewhere through authorized EarthQuaker Devices dealers.

When was the original Bellows discontinued?

The original Bellows Fuzz Driver was discontinued in 2019, according to Guitar Pedal X, and EarthQuaker Devices' own product page confirms the device is no longer in production. The Legacy Reissue brings the circuit back as a limited run.

What is the difference between Bellows Jr. and the Legacy Reissue Mini?

Both are mini versions of the discontinued Bellows. Bellows Jr., announced in July 2026 by Delicious Audio, brought the pedal back in a mini enclosure after players kept asking for it. The Legacy Reissue Mini is the limited 1,000-unit run in the Legacy Reissue Series with new Geoff Crowe artwork.
