What it does
The pedal keeps things deliberately simple. Electro-Harmonix describes it as "a sweetly simple delay with 3 seconds of delay time" starting from a crystal clean voice1. Delicious Audio's write-up of the launch gives the same range for the DELAY control3.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| DELAY | Sets the delay time from 8ms to 3 seconds1 |
| FILTER | Turned counterclockwise, places a low-pass filter on the delay effect for a sound similar to an analog delay1 |
The FILTER knob is the one tone-shaping control, and it matters for players who find bare digital repeats too bright: rolling it back darkens each repeat the way a tape or analog unit does. In Electro-Harmonix's words, the filtered sound is "similar to an analog delay"1.
Premier Guitar's reviewer looked at the pedal's unfiltered voice too: "Sans filtering, the Pico Canyon's basic delay voice is fairly neutral, which is no bad thing, and it's certainly not chilly"4. In other words, with the filter wide open you get a straightforward, uncolored echo, and the FILTER knob is there when you want the darker, analog-flavored character.
Where it came from
The Pico Canyon Echo was announced in September 2023 as part of Electro-Harmonix's NYC DSP Series of Pico-sized pedals5. Guitar.com described it as based on the larger Canyon Delay and Looper pedal, distilling its "simplicity and versatility" into the smaller format5. Premier Guitar's news coverage made the same point: the Canyon Echo "distills the original Canyon Delay and Looper's simplicity and versatility into a no-nonsense" package6.
What that means in practice:
- The delay engine comes from the full-size Canyon Delay and Looper1
- The format is the small Pico enclosure, shared with the other NYC DSP Series pedals announced at the same time5
- The control set is pared down to DELAY and FILTER, in place of the larger pedal's wider feature set1
Price
Published prices differ by seller and date. Electro-Harmonix lists the pedal at $149.50 USD on its own site as of October 202612. At launch in September 2023, Guitar.com reported a US price of $149.5052, while gearnews.com listed it at $105.00 at Thomann in October 20237. The maker's list price and a retailer's price are not the same thing, and both are given here as stated.

Questions
How long is the delay time on the Pico Canyon Echo?
The DELAY knob sets the delay time from 8ms to 3 seconds, according to Electro-Harmonix. That covers everything from very short slapback-style echoes to long, repeating ones, and the maker describes the pedal as starting from a crystal clean delay voice.
How much does the Electro-Harmonix Pico Canyon Echo cost?
Electro-Harmonix lists the Pico Canyon Echo at $149.50 USD on its own product page as of October 2026. Guitar.com reported a US price of $149.50 at launch in September 2023, while gearnews.com listed it at $105.00 at Thomann in October 2023, so the price you pay depends on where and when you buy.
Can the Pico Canyon Echo sound like an analog delay?
Yes, to a degree. Electro-Harmonix says that turning the FILTER knob counterclockwise places a low-pass filter on the delay effect, giving the pedal a sound similar to an analog delay. Without the filter engaged, Premier Guitar's reviewer found the basic delay voice fairly neutral and not chilly the way some digital delays can be.
Is the Pico Canyon Echo the same as the Canyon Delay and Looper?
It is a smaller, simpler version rather than the same pedal. Electro-Harmonix says the Pico Canyon Echo takes the digital delay from the Canyon Delay and Looper and presents it in the small Pico format. Guitar.com described it as distilling the simplicity and versatility of the larger Canyon Delay and Looper pedal.
Is the Pico Canyon Echo analog or digital?
It is a digital delay. Electro-Harmonix lists the circuit as digital on its product page, and the pedal is described as a flexible digital delay in the Pico format.
