The Flamma FS01, from Flamma Innovation, is a compact pedal that combines a drum machine with a phrase looper in a single enclosure. It offers 20 minutes of looper capacity and 11 groove styles, making it a straightforward option for players who want backing drums and looping without carrying separate units. It sits in the wider field of drum pedals alongside units like the Singular Sound BeatBuddy and the DigiTech SDRUM1.
What it does
The FS01 runs in three modes, which shape how the two halves of the pedal work together1:
- Looper mode: the pedal works as a phrase looper on its own1
- Drum machine mode: the pedal works as a drum machine on its own1
- Mix mode: looper and drum machine run together1
In mix mode, the looper and drum machine each have their own volume level adjustment, so a player can balance the recorded loop against the drums rather than being stuck with a fixed blend. Flamma describes the pedal as offering "20 minutes capacity looper with drum machine"1.
Where it sits in Flamma's range
The FS01 sits in Flamma Innovation's range as a combined drum machine and phrase looper. The maker describes it as the "FLAMMA FS01 Drum Machine & Phrase Loop Pedal with 11 Groove Styles and 20 min Loopers," and it offers 20 minutes of looper capacity alongside the drum machine1.
