The FOMOfx vOL PRO is a volume pedal that works with FOMOfx's Virtual Jeff Pro digital whammy bar system, and it doubles as a clean boost pedal. Instead of controlling pitch, the vOL PRO lets players use the whammy bar to dictate their volume, which means dynamic volume swells that would otherwise need a dedicated volume pedal or a control knob can be done from the arm1.
The pedal builds on the company's existing Virtual Jeff Pro digital whammy bar setup. Guitar World described it as an innovation that eliminates the mechanical and analog limits of its predecessors, with operation from the VJP arm more intuitive than by foot1.
What it does
The core idea is that the whammy can be used to curate dynamic volume swells that would otherwise need to be controlled by a dedicated volume pedal or a knob on the guitar. As a bonus, the pedal also provides a boost function1.
For players already using the Virtual Jeff Pro, the vOL PRO adds volume control to the same arm they already use for pitch effects. Guitar World noted that operation from the VJP arm is more intuitive than by foot1.
In one pedal, the vOL PRO combines:
- Volume control driven from the Virtual Jeff Pro's whammy bar arm rather than a rocker pedal1
- Dynamic volume swells without a dedicated volume pedal or a knob on the guitar1
- A clean boost function1
