The FuzzHugger Frequency Fu**** is a harmonizer fuzz from FuzzHugger Effects, a pedal that generates dirty harmonics of your input signal via frequency doubling, tripling, and sextupling. FuzzHugger describes its character as "Brash, yet musical."1
What it does
The Frequency Fu**** (the FF, in FuzzHugger's shorthand) works differently from a conventional fuzz pedal. Instead of clipping the signal on its own, it generates dirty harmonics of the input signal through frequency doubling, tripling, and sextupling, so the pedal adds new harmonic content above what you play. FuzzHugger positions it as a pedal to stack and blend: the maker notes that most players will be primarily stacking and blending the FF with dirt and fuzz, and the Mix knob exists for exactly that.12
The controls
The pedal has four knobs and a toggle, all described on the maker's product page.1
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Level | Master volume |
| Gain | From some to lots! |
| Filter | Tames highs and shapes the signal fed into the harmonifiers |
| Mix | Left for full effect, Center for 50-50, Right for input (un-effected) signal |
| Mode toggle | Three harmonics modes, described below |
The Filter is worth a second look: because it shapes the signal fed into the harmonifiers, it changes what the doubling, tripling and sextupling circuits have to work with, not just the tone of the effect itself.1
The Mode toggle
The Mode toggle selects how the harmonics come across, in three positions:1
- Center: Full F'd, the pedal's full effect.
- Down: Downshifts the F'd for a more controlled facemelting, using "Only" frequency tripling.
- Up: Provides vintage octave up elements and a milder but still juiced and excited tone.
Blending with other pedals
The Mix knob is the bridge between the FF and the rest of a board. FuzzHugger says it "lets you rein things in, and mix the effect with other effects," running from full effect on the left, through a 50-50 blend in the center, to the un-effected input signal on the right.1 Because the pedal's raw character is brash, that blend is how most players are expected to use it, alongside dirt and fuzz pedals such as the FuzzHugger Algal Bloom or FuzzHugger Doom Bloom.2
The Graphic, Deluxe Finish version
The Frequency Fu**** is offered as a Graphic, Deluxe Finish variant. It carries the same control set, with Level as master volume, Gain from some to lots, Filter taming highs and shaping the signal into the harmonifiers, Mix for full effect through to un-effected signal, and the same three-position Mode toggle.23
Two things set the Deluxe Finish apart:
- The enclosure graphic carries an uncensored naughty word on it, as the maker's page notes plainly.3
- Sale units are sold as cosmetic sales with one tiny imperfection in the clear coat, described by FuzzHugger as one small ding in clear coat.13
As of 26 October 2026, the FuzzHugger Frequency Fu**** carries a list price of $199.00 USD, with a sale price of $187.00 USD.13

Questions
What does the Mode toggle do on the Frequency Fu****?
The Mode toggle has three positions. Center is Full F'd, the pedal's full effect. Down downshifts the F'd for a more controlled facemelting, using only frequency tripling. Up provides vintage octave up elements and a milder but still juiced and excited tone, according to FuzzHugger's product page.
How does the Mix knob work on the Frequency Fu****?
The Mix knob sets how much of the effect you hear. Turned left it gives the full effect, centered it gives a 50-50 blend, and turned right it gives the input, un-effected signal. FuzzHugger says the Mix knob lets you rein things in and mix the effect with other effects.
Can I blend the dry signal with the effect?
Yes. The Mix knob covers the full range: left for full effect, center for a 50-50 blend of effect and dry, and right for the input, un-effected signal. FuzzHugger notes that most players will be primarily stacking and blending the FF with dirt and fuzz.
What is the Deluxe Finish version?
The Graphic, Deluxe Finish is a variant of the Frequency Fu**** with the same controls and circuit, sold in a deluxe finish with a graphic that carries an uncensored naughty word on it. Sale units have one tiny imperfection in the clear coat, which FuzzHugger describes as a cosmetic sale.
