The Greenhouse Effects Deity is a reverb pedal launched in May 2018. Delicious Audio described it as delivering "immersive ambience with a carefully selected palette of secondar[y]" effects, and it sits alongside other reverb pedals as an ambience pedal with extra modulation-style tricks built in1.
Modes and what they do
The Deity has three modes. Delicious Audio's write-up says the modes "offer options such as a rotating room effect, octave effects and modulation"1.
- NATURAL: Room/hall reverb with an optional rotating room effect1.
- SENTIENT and ETHEREAL: the two other modes, which the write-up groups with the octave effects and modulation options1.
Controls
The DECAY knob sets the length of the reverb trail. Delicious Audio notes a useful trick: set it to zero to eliminate the reverb and have the modulation affect your clean signal instead1.
Bypass and trails
The footswitch can be set to function as true bypass or as buffered bypass with trails, which allows the reverb tail to continue after the pedal is switched off. The selection is made by holding the footswitch for 3 seconds, and the LED indicates the setting: it blinks red for trails and blue for bypass1.
The bypass mode is changed by holding the footswitch for 3 seconds, so a long press changes the setting rather than just switching the pedal.
