The Horrothia Teeth MKII X is a discrete low-gain overdrive pedal, announced on 12 January 2026 as an upgrade to one of Horrothia's two flagship discrete overdrive circuits. It is built for players who work in the subtler end of the overdrive range: Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson called it "A beautifully elegantly textured Low Gain Transistor Overdrive with expansive controls" and "a well loved take on the Low Gain format - well worth considering if you're a fan of the more subtle styles of o[verdrive]"1. For a wider view of the category, see Overdrive Pedals.
Controls
The Teeth MKII X carries six shaping controls, which is what the MKII X upgrade adds over earlier versions of the circuit1:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Output HPF | Output high-pass filter for shaping the low end |
| Gain Stage | Sets the amount of gain |
| Clipping : Soft > Hard | Moves the clipping character from soft to hard |
| Saturation | Saturation control |
| Breath | Breath control |
| Volume | Sets output level |
The pedal also features a zinc arcade-style footswitch, a hardware detail Guitar Pedal X highlighted on both of Horrothia's upgraded flagship pedals1.
Where it sits in the Horrothia range
The Teeth MKII X and the Triage Deluxe were upgraded together in January 2026, each gaining six shaping controls and a Breath control. The two pedals divide the work between them: as Guitar Pedal X put it, "The Teeth MKII X is a Low-Gain Overdrive, while the Triage Deluxe is a High-Headroom Mid-Gain Preamp"1. The original Triage was the sibling circuit in the range before the Deluxe update.
