The Ibanez UE300 is a floor effects unit from Ibanez that put three effects in a single housing, running on AC power rather than batteries. Vintage Guitar magazine's history of the Ibanez Auto Filter notes that the Auto Filter was offered as an option on some UE300 units, so the exact effect lineup could vary from unit to unit12.
Production and history
TONEHOME, an independent Ibanez reference, lists the UE300 as produced from 1983 to 1985. Its list price in Germany was 596 DM in 1983, rising to 660 DM in 19842. The unit belongs to the same family of Ibanez multi-effects floor units as the UE 305, the UE 405 and the DUE300 Digital, which followed it through the mid 1980s2.
Availability and collectibility today
The UE300 has not been reissued, and TONEHOME rates its availability as rare and its collectibility as high2. Players looking for a modern take on Ibanez multi-effects will not find a direct successor, though the company's current catalog includes units such as the Layer Delayer LD-303 and the PUE5 Tube2.
