The Eee Peee is a DIY boost pedal kit from Jed's Pedals, a build-it-yourself take on a clean volume boost that the maker says provides up to 20dB in volume. On the finished pedal you get one knob and two toggles, which Jed's Pedals describes as "nice and versatile." The maker notes that the kit compares to the EP Boost by Xotic, a comparison of circuits only, with no endorsement or approval from any manufacturer1. If you would rather buy a finished boost than solder one, the site's Boost Pedals page covers ready-built alternatives.
Kit versions
The Eee Peee is sold in several versions, so you can buy as much or as little of the build as you want1:
- PCB Only: just the plain PCB
- PCB & Components
- PCB & Components and off board parts
- Full Kit
- Full Kit & Drilling
The Full Kit is supplied with a JP1590B enclosure, so the box is included rather than sourced separately1.
The circuit and the build
The latest PCB hangs from the board mounted pot and the toggles. On the original circuit those toggles were internal switches, so the kit puts them on the outside of the pedal1.
The one part that could put off a first-time builder, the Jfet at Q1, is handled: Q1 is designed for both through hole and surface mount Jfets, and the current boards have the SMD Jfet pre-soldered for you1.
The price is listed by the maker in pounds sterling, £28.00 GBP, and is shown here as stated rather than converted.

Questions
Is the Jed's Pedals Eee Peee a kit or a finished pedal?
It is a DIY kit, not a finished pedal. Jed's Pedals sells it in several versions, from a plain PCB on its own up to a Full Kit with drilling, so you build and solder the pedal yourself. The current boards have the surface mount Jfet for Q1 pre-soldered, which removes the hardest part of the build.
How much boost does the Eee Peee give?
Jed's Pedals says the boost provides up to 20dB in volume. The circuit is controlled with one knob and two toggles, which the maker describes as nice and versatile for a boost of this kind.
What enclosure comes with the Eee Peee kit?
The kit is supplied with a JP1590B enclosure from Jed's Pedals, so the box for the finished pedal is included rather than sourced separately.
What pedal is the Eee Peee based on?
Jed's Pedals says the kit compares to the EP Boost by Xotic. That is a comparison of circuits only, with no endorsement or approval from any manufacturer.
Do I need to solder surface mount parts on the Eee Peee?
Not on current boards. Q1 is designed to take either through hole or surface mount Jfets, and the current boards come with the SMD Jfet already pre-soldered, so a builder working with through hole parts does not have to tackle surface mount soldering.
