The JedsPeds LPB is a DIY guitar effects pedal kit for a boost circuit. JedsPeds describes its range as running "from a little clean boost to a lot of gain," and the kit is offered in three versions that differ in how many switches and parts they carry. The maker lists it at £18.00 GBP as of 26 October 20261.
The three versions
JedsPeds sells the LPB kit in three configurations, all built around the same booster circuit1:
| Version | What it adds |
|---|---|
| LPB standard | A one knob booster circuit1 |
| LPB with added grit | The standard circuit with an extra toggle switch which adds extra grit1 |
| LPB Ultimate | The added grit circuit with two extra toggles and extra caps, which the maker says gives "a plethora of variety available"1 |
The added grit toggle pushes the kit toward overdrive territory, so players weighing it against a dedicated drive pedal may also want to read about overdrive pedals and distortion pedals1.
What you get, and what you supply
The kit is sold in two levels of completeness:
- PCB & Components: the PCB, onboard components and any pots and toggle switches1
- Full Kit: the above with an undrilled enclosure and off board components (foot switch, jacks, 9v, LED)1
A knob is not included. JedsPeds says "You will need 1 knob for this kit," and suggests the size by version: a big knob for the single knob version, a medium knob for the one knob, one toggle version, and a slim knob for the one knob, 3 toggle version1.
The Full Kit's enclosure arrives undrilled, so plan on laying out and drilling it yourself. JedsPeds makes other kits too, such as the JedsPeds Social Dancing and JedsPeds Texas Cowboy1.
Where the circuit comes from
JedsPeds states plainly that "This kit compares to the LPB by EHX," referring to Electro-Harmonix's LPB booster. The maker is equally plain about the limits of that comparison1:
"There is no endorsement or approval from any manufacturer and this information is for comparison only."
In other words, this is JedsPeds' own take on a well-known boost design, not a licensed copy, and the comparison is there to help players place the kit, not to imply Electro-Harmonix's involvement1.
