The JHS Mary-K 1969 Japan is a fuzz pedal, part of JHS Pedals' Legends of Fuzz collection. It is JHS's spin on the Kay Fuzz Tone, a vintage fuzz circuit, and it appeared in that collection alongside other JHS fuzzes such as the Legends of Fuzz Smiley and Legends of Fuzz Bender1.
What it does
The Mary-K 1969 Japan keeps the layout of the original circuit simple: it features just two simple controls and a Mode switch1. Where it departs from the Kay Fuzz Tone it is based on is in flexibility. JHS added knobs and an expression pedal output compared to the original, giving players variable, hands-free control of one of the parameters1. An expression pedal output lets a player sweep one of the pedal's parameters with a foot pedal while playing, something the original circuit could not do.
