The KHDK Digital Bath is a filter and delay pedal from KHDK, designed with Deftones frontman Chino Moreno and named after the Deftones song "Digital Bath"12. KHDK describes it as a filter-delay modulation pedal built to dissolve the guitar signal into "waves of dreamy textures and hypnotic echoes"1. In Guitar World's review, Mike Astley-Brown characterized the sound as "a distinctive take on step filter modulation" paired with an analog-style delay3.

Development took nearly two years, with Moreno involved throughout13. The pedal is hand-assembled in the EU, and as of October 2026 it is listed by the KHDK Webstore at $259.991. At launch in July 2025 it was priced at $24934.

A step filter and analog-style delay

The Digital Bath combines two effects in one box. The first is a step filter, a form of modulation in which the filter moves in stepped increments rather than sweeping continuously, the aquatic, bubbling character associated with the Deftones song it is named after32. The second is a built-in delay with tape-style echoes of up to 400ms13.

Despite the name, the circuit is analog: RockBoard's PedalPedia lists the Digital Bath's circuit type as analog5. The "Digital Bath" name comes from the song, not the design.

Two internal features shape how the pedal sits in a rig:

  • An internal trimmer adjusts the delay feedback, which MusicRadar describes as ranging from "brief whispers to cascading loops"6.
  • Internal set-and-forget slide switches can take the dry signal out of the equation completely, which KHDK says is "perfect for parallel FX loops or experimental routing"6.

The controls

The front panel is deliberately simple. The filter and delay share knobs rather than each having their own full control set6.

ControlWhat it does
RateControls the filter6
MixControls the delay level, and mixes the filter movement16
TimeControls the delay time, up to 400ms16
Depth toggleAdjusts the depth of the modulation6

KHDK groups the filter controls as "Mix, modulate, and shape your movement"1. The Depth control increases the intensity of the effect2. MusicRadar called it "a relatively straightforward control setup," suited to soft-focus repeats adjacent to or overlapping with shoegaze6.

One thing to know before buying: there is a single soft-touch true bypass footswitch, and no second footswitch or remote switch option for selecting the effects individually3. There is also no option of buffered bypass, so repeats do not ring out when the unit is bypassed3.

Players who want delay trails to continue after switching the pedal off will not get them here: Guitar World's review notes there is no buffered bypass option, so the repeats cut when the pedal is bypassed3.

What reviewers said

Guitar World's review praised the build, awarding four stars for build quality, but flagged the internal controls as a drawback: "Meticulously assembled, but internal controls are a drag"3. The enclosure has top-mounted jacks, which the review found good for maximizing pedalboard space3.

MusicRadar's take on the pedal's character was that "Digital Bath is a much more gentle pedalboard proposition. Look elsewhere for your gain source"6. In other words, it is a texture and ambience pedal, not a distortion or overdrive substitute.

At the time of Guitar Pedal X's launch coverage, no manual was available and detail on the individual circuit elements was thin2.

Who uses it

The pedal's signature artist is Chino Moreno, who was involved in the design for nearly two years13. KHDK says he tested it live at the Deftones' Coachella set and has been using it on their latest tour1; MusicRadar likewise reports he used it during the band's recent tour and Coachella dates6.

The first 150 units shipped with a certificate of authenticity signed by Moreno, and those have sold out6. KHDK has since released an ultra-limited run in unique final colors1.

Availability

As of October 2026, the Digital Bath is listed by the KHDK Webstore at $259.991. At launch in July 2025 it was available only from the KHDK Webstore, with international dealer availability described as possibly imminent25.

Questions

Is the KHDK Digital Bath true bypass?

Yes. The pedal uses a single soft-touch true bypass footswitch, and KHDK describes it as delivering pure tone when off. There is no second footswitch or remote switching option for selecting the filter and delay individually.

Do the delay repeats ring out when the Digital Bath is bypassed?

No. Guitar World's review notes there is no option of buffered bypass, so repeats do not ring out when the unit is bypassed. Players who want trails after switching the pedal off would need a separate solution.

What is the maximum delay time on the Digital Bath?

Up to 400ms of tape-style echoes. Delay time is set with the Time knob, and the delay level with the Mix knob. An internal trimmer adjusts the delay feedback, from brief whispers to cascading loops.

How much current does the KHDK Digital Bath draw?

The Digital Bath draws 75mA and runs on 9V DC with a center negative plug, the standard pedalboard supply. That draw is modest enough for most isolated power supplies.

Is the Digital Bath analog or digital?

Despite the name, RockBoard's PedalPedia lists the Digital Bath's circuit type as analog. The name comes from the Deftones song of the same name, not from a digital design.

Where can I buy the KHDK Digital Bath?

KHDK has also released an ultra-limited run in unique final colors. The first 150 units, which shipped with a signed certificate, sold out.
