The Ligma Electronics You Need To Wake Up is a compact pedal that combines room reverb with granular buffer effects, two things players usually meet in separate boxes. The buffer constantly records your playing, so phrases and textures can be captured and manipulated as you go, while the reverb side shapes the space around them1. It sits in the same family as other reverb pedals, but its granular memory is what sets it apart.
What it does
The pedal pairs a room reverb with a granular buffer. The buffer records continuously, which means anything you have just played is available to be reworked into phrases and textures rather than simply passing by1. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson described the combination as "a cool and quirky Reverb + Granular Buffer with a high degree of versatility in a very compact and overall streamli"1.
Controls and footswitches
Three knobs shape the reverb side, and the ENTER footswitch handles on/off and shift functions1.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| DRY>WET MIX | Blends dry and wet signal; secondary function Gate/Sensitivity |
| DECAY | Shapes the reverb |
| HI CUT | Shapes the reverb |
| ENTER footswitch | Quick press on/off, hold for shift options |

Karlsson's feature on Guitar Pedal X, published on 3 September 2026, is the published account of the pedal. His verdict on usability1:
"I've spent a good many years working with granular effects, and this unit relatively speaking is pretty straightforward"
He found it can deliver really interesting tones and textures with minimum fuss, and that its ease of use and sound hold up for a granular effects unit1.
