The Lo-Fi Mind Effects Revenger Fuzz is a fuzz pedal with a classic two-knob design built on old school parts and vintage sounds. It is based on the professional Sola Sound Tone Bender MkII and the Marshall Supa Fuzz, and Pedal of the Day described it as "a classic Tonebender, for sure, but hyper-vitaminated with very subtle Attack and Volume controls."1
What it does
The Revenger takes the Tone Bender MkII circuit, one of the foundational Germanium fuzz designs, and builds it with vintage components. The pedal is mounted on PCB with NOS (new old stock) components, including metal can Mullard OC41 transistors, Philips and Mullard Mustard capacitors, NOS Piher resistors and vintage hand-painted wire.1
Its controls are deliberately simple:
Pedal of the Day found the pedal easy to dial in: "It's a real plug-and-play type of pedal, with excellent sounds being made at pretty much any settings."1
What reviewers said
Pedal of the Day's 2021 review was positive about the build and the sound alike, summing up: "Cheers to the crew at Lo-Fi Mind Effects on an excellent re-imagining of a true classic effect."1
