The STOP! Dual Fuzz is a collaborative release between Mask Audio Electronics and Holy Island Audio, reported by Delicious Audio on 28 July 20231. It puts two existing circuits in one enclosure: the Holy Island Audio Abracadaver octave-up fuzz circuit on the left side, and the Mask Audio Electronics Yes fuzz on the right. Delicious Audio describes the result as "a wild and chaotic pairing of speaker shredding noise"1.
For a player, the appeal is straightforward: instead of buying and ordering two separate fuzz pedals, you get both circuits in one box, each with its own bypass footswitch, and a toggle that reverses which one comes first. The Abracadaver side is an octave-up fuzz with a couple of tricks up its sleeve, per the same write-up1.
Two fuzzes in one box: octave-up and Yes
The pedal combines the HIA Abracadaver octave-up fuzz circuit and the MAE Yes fuzz in a single enclosure1. Each circuit can be engaged independently with its own bypass footswitch, so you can run one, the other, or both at once1.
The Abracadaver itself is described by its maker as a simple way of adding a sprinkle of chaos to your other drive pedals: place it before your fuzz for a fuller, more harmonically rich sound, or place it after fuzz to turn it into a wild octave fuzz in the vein of an Octavia2. That flexibility is baked into the STOP!, where the Order toggle decides whether the Abracadaver sits before or after the Yes circuit.
Holy Island Audio is a Cardiff-based maker known for compact pedals including the Spectral Fire Drive, the Micro Mountain Mover Super-Muff, and the Blast Radius oscillating fuzz, the latter built around three independently selectable gain stages34.
The controls
The two sides of the pedal mirror each other, with a volume control and a character control on each, plus toggles that change each circuit's voicing1.
| Control | Side | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Loud | Yes side | Sets the output volume1 |
| Louder | Abracadaver side | Controls the output volume1 |
| Clang | Abracadaver side | Sets the amount of clang, the metallic upper-harmonic character of the fuzz12 |
| Stronk switch | Abracadaver side | Hi/lo gain toggle: a fuller tone, or a milder one bordering on overdrive at lower gain settings1 |
| Texture toggle | Yes side | Two extra voicings, from big and thick to thin and compressed1 |
| Order toggle | Both | Reverses the order of the two circuits1 |
The Stronk switch is worth a note for players who want more than full-on chaos: in its lower gain position the Abracadaver side can sit near overdrive territory rather than screaming fuzz1. The Texture toggle on the Yes side is the equivalent shaping tool for that circuit, moving between a big, thick voice and a thin, compressed one1.
Power: 9V DC only, no battery
The STOP! runs on a 9V "BOSS style" DC adapter only, with no battery option1. That means a standard center-negative 9V supply, the same format used by most pedalboard power bricks.
No batteries: the pedal needs a 9V DC adapter, so plan for a power supply or pedalboard brick rather than a battery compartment1.
One buying note from the release coverage: international orders may be subject to customs fees, and all additional fees are the buyer's responsibility1.
Built from the Abracadaver and the Yes
The STOP! is not a new circuit design but a pairing of two existing ones. The Abracadaver comes from Holy Island Audio, a maker known for compact pedals including the Spectral Fire Drive, Micro Mountain Mover Super-Muff and Blast Radius Oscillating Fuzz3. On its own the Abracadaver is described as a simple way of adding a sprinkle of chaos to your other drive pedals: place it before your fuzz for a fuller, more harmonically rich sound, or place it after fuzz to turn it into a wild octave fuzz in the vein of an octavia2.
The Order toggle idea also has a precedent at Holy Island Audio: the Tides V2 reverb and distortion pedal introduced an Order toggle that switches the routing of its two circuits5. On the STOP!, both effects are wired in series, and the order toggle determines which circuit is placed last in the chain; whichever circuit the toggle is flicked towards is last1.
Every Holy Island Audio pedal is printed and assembled in Cardiff, Wales, where the maker is based1.

Questions
Can you run the two fuzzes separately on the STOP! Dual Fuzz?
Yes. The two circuits are wired in series inside the pedal, but each one has its own bypass footswitch, so either circuit can be engaged independently. You can run the Abracadaver octave-up fuzz on its own, the Yes fuzz on its own, or both together.
What does the Order toggle do?
The Order toggle reverses the order of the two circuits in the signal chain. Both effects are wired in series, and whichever circuit the toggle is flicked towards is placed last in the chain, so you can choose whether the Abracadaver feeds the Yes or the Yes feeds the Abracadaver.
Does the STOP! Dual Fuzz take a battery?
No. The pedal runs on a 9V 'BOSS style' DC adapter only and has no battery option, so you will need a center-negative 9V power supply or an isolated pedalboard power brick to run it.
What does the Clang knob control?
The Clang control sets the amount of clang, the metallic upper-harmonic character of the fuzz. On the Abracadaver side it shapes how wild and harmonically rich the octave-up fuzz becomes, from a fuller fuzz sound to a wild, Octavia-style octave fuzz.
Where is the STOP! Dual Fuzz made?
It is a collaboration between Mask Audio Electronics and Holy Island Audio. Every Holy Island Audio pedal is printed and assembled in Cardiff, Wales, so the STOP! Dual Fuzz comes out of the Welsh maker's workshop.
What does the Stronk switch do?
The Stronk switch on the Abracadaver side is a hi/lo gain toggle. In the higher position it delivers a fuller tone, and in the lower position it can produce a milder sound bordering on overdrive at lower gain settings.
