The Mr. Black SuperMoon MS Limited was a special edition reverb pedal from Mr. Black, based on the company's SuperMoon Chrome circuit but with additional modulation in the reverb output. It was built as a 100-piece limited run, and every dollar of proceeds went to charity: Mr. Black stated that "100% of the proceeds are directly donated to the National MS Society."1
What it does
The MS Limited takes the SuperMoon Chrome as its starting point. The Chrome is described by Mr. Black as having "Dynamic, proprietary Sway modulation," and the MS Limited adds further modulation in the reverb output on top of that circuit.2 In plain terms, it is a reverb pedal whose reverb tail carries an extra movement to it, a variation aimed at players who wanted a more animated version of the SuperMoon sound.
The charity run and its status
The pedal carried a list price of $179.95, and Mr. Black also offered contribution levels ranging from $100.00 to $1,000.00 for players who wanted to give more to the National MS Society.1
The run was limited to 100 pieces and was marked sold out on 15 July 2016 at 7:19am PST. It has not been reissued, so it turns up only secondhand.1
For players drawn to the SuperMoon family, the standard SuperMoon and the SuperMoon Eclipse remain the related pedals in the line, and the wider category is covered on the Reverb Pedals page.
