The NEXI Tremolo TRM-01 is a tremolo effect pedal for electric guitar made by NEXI Industries. Tremolo modulates the volume of your signal, producing a pulsing swell, and the TRM-01's Speed control sets how fast the effect pulses. Like all NEXI pedals, it is true bypass and can run standalone on a 9V battery or from the external power supply of NEXI's pedalboard. Guitar Interactive Magazine's Jonathan Graham described it as representing "the next generation of 'lush.'"1

Controls and settings

The pedal keeps things simple with two knobs:

ControlWhat it does
SpeedControls how fast the tremolo pulses1
ChopShapes the depth or intensity of the effect, used alongside Speed1

Graham sketched the range of sounds the pair covers: "Keep Speed and Chop down for a laid-back effect that's ideal for surf style, turn it up a bit for twangy country or rock." At higher settings, the pedal produces a steady pulse on a rock riff.1

Design and power

NEXI describes the TRM-01 as having a click-and-play design that the company says optimizes pedalboard compatibility, and it delivers what the press item calls a vibrant tone. Like all NEXI pedals, it is true bypass, meaning your guitar's signal passes through unaltered when the effect is off.1

For power, the pedal can run standalone on a 9V battery, or it can plug directly into the external power supply of NEXI's pedalboard system.1

The TRM-01 was announced in September 2017 as a new release. It belongs to the wider family of tremolo pedals, which range from simple two-knob designs to units with waveform shaping and tap tempo.
