The Old Blood Noise Pardner Fuzz is a fuzz pedal with an unusual twist: it pairs a dual-voiced fuzz with an onboard effects loop that has its own overdrive circuit, called Lasso. Old Blood Noise Endeavours describes it as "a whacky fuzz with unique synthy textures that resonate and warble and pair with an overdriven effects loop ("Lasso") to add further textures to an already otherworldly dirt device"1. Delicious Audio called it a mix of "two normally antithetic effects: a fuzz and an looper with its own drive circuit (Lasso)"2.
The pedal launched in August 2024 and was available immediately from the OBNE Webstore and international dealers3.
What it does: synthy fuzz with an overdriven effects loop
The Pardner is really two circuits in one enclosure. On one side is a fuzz with two voices, set by a Synthy/Fuzzy toggle. On the other is the Lasso, an effects loop with its own drive circuit, so anything you plug into the loop gets pushed by an overdrive before it meets the fuzz. MusicRadar described it as "a fuzz, with dual voicings plus an onboard effects loop that has an overdrive circuit driving it"5.
Each side has its own soft-touch bypass footswitch, so you can run the fuzz alone, the Lasso loop alone, or both together1.
The controls
The Pardner's knobs split between the fuzz side and the Lasso side.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Filter | Controls the gain in the fuzz and its voice; cranking it adds more low-end content5 |
| Intensity | Increases the sizzly, warbly, yodelly quality of the fuzz5 |
| Synthy/Fuzzy toggle | Sets the core fuzz voice: Synthy gives a low-octave, synthesizer-like quality; Fuzzy is more recognizably fuzz5 |
| Treble | Sculpts the fuzz output's high end1 |
| Bass | Sculpts the fuzz output's low end1 |
| Fuzz Volume | Sets the fuzz output level1 |
| Lasso Gain | Sets the overdrive amount of the Lasso effects loop1 |
| Lasso Volume | Sets the volume of the Lasso effects loop1 |
| Lasso First/Para/Fuzz First toggle | Sets the order of effects1 |
Guitar World found the Synthy/Fuzzy switch and the Intensity dial "pretty self-explanatory and help further the personalization the pedal offers"8.
The Lasso loop and its three routings
The Lasso loop is what sets the Pardner apart from a standard fuzz. Lasso Out (Send) and Lasso In (Return) jacks let you route other effects into the Pardner1, and the loop's own drive circuit means those effects get an overdrive character of its own, set by the Lasso Gain and Lasso Volume knobs1.
The Lasso First/Para/Fuzz First toggle gives three routing options, where Para stands for parallel2:
- Lasso First: the partner effect goes into the fuzz
- Fuzz First: the fuzz goes into the partner effect
- Parallel: both effects run side by side
As MusicRadar put it, "you can swap the order of the effects, so that the partner effect is going into the fuzz or vice-versa, or run them in parallel"5. Gearnews noted simply that "it comes with an FX loop that allows you to loop other effects into the fuzz"6.
Power
The Pardner requires a 9V DC center negative power supply with a 2.1mm jack, capable of 80mA, and the supply is not included1. There is no battery option, so it needs a spot on your pedalboard power supply.
The power supply is not included with the Pardner, so plan on providing your own 9V DC center negative supply rated for at least 80mA1.
Colors and editions
The Pardner launched in three colorways: tan, purple and blue4. Delicious Audio described them as purple, teal blue and yellow-tan variants2.
Since launch, Old Blood Noise Endeavours has added special editions:
- Blue Bonanza Colorway: a special colorway listed at $239.00 as of October 20267
- Pink Pardner Dynamic Fuzz Edition: a Valentine's Day limited edition released in February 2025, with the artwork updated so the protagonist holds flowers rather than a gun. It carries the same feature set, including the Synthy/Fuzzy fuzz type toggle, Treble, Bass and Volume controls, top-mounted jacks, and true relay bypass when both sides are off. Pricing stayed the same as the original launch at $2299.

Questions
Is the Pardner Fuzz true bypass?
Yes. Each side of the pedal has its own soft-touch bypass footswitch, and when both the fuzz and the Lasso loop are switched off the pedal uses true relay bypass, so your dry signal passes through untouched.
What does the Synthy/Fuzzy toggle do on the Pardner?
It sets the core voice of the fuzz. Synthy gives a low-octave, synthesizer-like quality, while Fuzzy is a more recognizable fuzz character. MusicRadar describes the Synthy side as a little like a synthesizer and the Fuzzy side as more recognizably fuzz.
Can I put other pedals in the Pardner's effects loop?
Yes. The Lasso loop has a Lasso Out (Send) and Lasso In (Return) jack so you can route other effects into the Pardner. The loop itself has its own drive circuit, with Lasso Gain and Lasso Volume controls to set the overdrive amount and level.
Does the Pardner Fuzz come with a power supply?
No. It requires a 9V DC center negative power supply with a 2.1mm jack capable of 80mA, and the supply is not included, so you need to provide your own.
What is the Pink Pardner Dynamic Fuzz Edition?
A Valentine's Day limited edition of the Pardner released in February 2025. The artwork is updated so the protagonist holds flowers rather than a gun, and pricing stayed the same as the original launch at $229.
