The Quilter Labs Wet Reverb Pedal v2a is a compact reverb pedal built around a simple idea: two knobs, mix and depth, and a signal path designed to stay out of the way of your dry tone. Quilter's user guide gives it a dry signal frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, +/- 0.1 dB, and very low distortion figures, which is the maker's way of saying the dry signal passes through essentially untouched1.
Controls
The pedal keeps its face simple: two knobs and an LED.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Mix | Controls the reverb level. Full counter-clockwise is dry (no reverb). Full clockwise is 100% reverb signal for parallel effects loops. |
| Depth | Controls the decay time, the length of the reverb tail. |
| LED | Lights when the effect is active. |
| Foot switch | True bypass. Bypassing works even with a dead battery or no power applied. |
The mix knob's full-clockwise position is the feature the pedal is named for: at 100% reverb signal, the Wet can sit in a parallel effects loop and supply only the reverberated signal while the amp carries the dry path1.
Power, battery and connections
The power jack accepts a 9V DC center-negative input and the pedal draws 30 mA. Quilter says it works with standard power supplies like a Boss replacement adapter or a 1 Spot1.
Plugging into the power jack disconnects the battery, so there is no need to unplug the input to save the battery when using a supply.
The battery compartment accepts a 9V (PP3) battery. Quilter lists typical battery life at 14 hours with an alkaline battery, and 18 hours with the rechargeable option, though the guide notes that the rechargeable option is no longer available on new pedals1.
Connections are mono on both sides:
- Input: a mono input jack that accepts input directly from your instrument or from an amplifier effects loop output1.
- Output: a mono output jack that provides output to another effects pedal, an amplifier input, or an effects loop input1.
Measurements and signal specs
Quilter's user guide gives a set of laboratory-style measurements for the v2a1:
| Specification | Value |
|---|---|
| Input impedance | 1.1 MΩ |
| Maximum input level | 6 V pk-pk = 8.7 dBu = 2.1 V RMS |
| Frequency response (dry signal) | 20 Hz to 20 kHz, +/- 0.1 dB |
| Total harmonic distortion, bypassed | < 0.001%, 20 Hz to 20 kHz |
| Total harmonic distortion, enabled, dry signal | < 0.011% @ 1 kHz |
| Signal to noise, enabled, dry signal | 110 dB, unweighted, 22 Hz to 22 kHz |
| Signal to noise, enabled, knobs at 50% | 103 dB, unweighted, 22 Hz to 22 kHz |
The 1.1 MΩ input impedance is high enough to sit directly after a guitar without loading the pickups, and the output is described by Quilter as low impedance: "This low-impedance output is capable of driving long cables without a change in tone."1

Questions
Does the Quilter Wet Reverb take a battery?
Yes. The battery compartment accepts a 9V (PP3) battery, and Quilter lists typical battery life of 14 hours with an alkaline battery. Earlier pedals could be fitted with a rechargeable option, but Quilter notes that the rechargeable option is no longer available on new pedals. Plugging into the power jack disconnects the battery.
Is the Quilter Wet Reverb true bypass?
Yes. Quilter's user guide states that the foot switch is true bypass, and that bypassing works even with a dead battery or no power applied, so the pedal passes your dry signal when switched off regardless of its power state.
Can the Wet Reverb run fully wet for parallel use?
Yes. The mix knob controls the reverb level: full counter-clockwise is dry with no reverb, and full clockwise is 100% reverb signal. That fully wet setting is intended for use in a parallel effects loop, where the pedal supplies only the reverb signal.
How much current does the Wet Reverb draw?
The pedal runs on 9V DC, center negative, and draws 30 mA, according to Quilter's user guide. It works with standard power supplies such as a Boss replacement adapter or a 1 Spot.
Is the Wet Reverb stereo?
No. The v2a has a mono input jack, which accepts a signal directly from your instrument or from an amplifier effects loop output, and a mono output jack that feeds another pedal, an amplifier input or an effects loop input.
How big is the Wet Reverb pedal?
Quilter lists the pedal at 2.8 inches wide, 4.5 inches long and 1.85 inches high (71 mm by 115 mm by 47 mm), weighing 7 oz (200 g) without a battery.
