The Red Witch Euphorium Fuzz is a silicon fuzz pedal from Red Witch Pedals, part of the company's Apothecary series. What sets it apart from most compact fuzzes is that it holds two independent fuzz circuits in one enclosure, and the Bliss toggle lets you run them one at a time or stacked in series. Red Witch describes it as "a silicon fuzz pedal that offers a near limitless number of sonic variations, all within a very simple to use layout"1.
The pedal was designed by Ben Fulton, who says he has designed over 25 fuzz pedals over the last 23 years1. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson noted that Fulton "has a way with Classic Fuzz Face circuits, so presumably another smart take on that 2-transistor circuit type"2.
Two fuzz circuits in one pedal
The core idea of the Euphorium is the pair of fuzz circuits sharing one box. With the Bliss toggle off, you are hearing a single circuit. Flip it and the second fuzz engages, with the two circuits placed in series, one feeding into the other. As MusicRadar's Jonathan Horsley put it, "Activating the Bliss mode places these circuits in series with one another"3. Guitar Pedal X lists the pedal's voice as "Single / Dual Series Bliss Fuzz"2.
Stacking two fuzzes in series is normally a pedalboard trick that takes two boxes and a patch cable. The Euphorium builds it in, and the Fuzz control works across the full sweep in either Bliss setting1. Red Witch says that by using the Fuzz, Grain and Tone controls, "guitarists can reproduce virtually any beloved fuzz sound from the last 50 years"1.
The pedal is also unusual within its own range: Guitar Pedal X points out that "the fuzz has just the one toggle-switch, where the other 5 candidates in the range have 2"2.
The controls: Fuzz, Grain, Tone and the Bliss toggle
The control layout is three knobs and one toggle. Red Witch's Apothecary page sums up the range of sounds as "vintage wool to searing modern chaos" using the FUZZ, GRAIN and GRIT controls4, while the product page and press coverage describe the knobs as Fuzz, Tone and Volume15.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Fuzz | Sets the amount of fuzz across its full sweep, in either Bliss setting1 |
| Grain | Chooses how smooth or how sputty the fuzz is; dialing back gates the signal, with more gating and sputtiness below 12 o'clock1 |
| Tone | A tone stack crafted to reduce the "bite" of the fuzz; all the way back gives a Cream era "woman tone"1 |
| Volume | Sets the output level5 |
| Bliss toggle | Engages the second fuzz circuit, placing the two circuits in series1 |
The Grain control is the character knob. Guitar World describes it this way: "The Grain dial presides dominion over the 'sputter' of the effect," a feature lifted from Red Witch's Fuzz God series5. Fulton explains the lineage himself:
"Drawing from my Fuzz God series 'sputter' control, Grain allows you to choose how smooth or how sputty the fuzz sound is."1
For a player, that means Grain is effectively a texture and gate control in one. Run high, the fuzz is smooth and sustained. Pull it back below 12 o'clock and the signal starts to gate and sputter, the broken, coughing texture associated with starved vintage fuzz circuits1.
The Tone control is deliberately voiced to shave off harshness rather than simply tilt between bass and treble. Red Witch says it is "specifically crafted to reduce the 'bite' component of the fuzz sound," and that dialing it all the way back gets you Clapton's iconic Cream era "woman tone"1.
Build, power and warranty
The Euphorium is housed in a diecast enclosure with machined aluminum knobs unique to the Apothecary series and a color-matched LED1. It is made in New Zealand1.
Power comes from a 9 volt regulated DC supply with a 2.1mm barrel plug, tip negative, and the pedal draws only 5 milliamps1, light enough that it will not strain most isolated supplies. The footswitch is true bypass and rated for over 100,000 cycles1. Red Witch backs the pedal with a lifetime warranty on the electronics and mechanisms for the registered owner1.
The Euphorium runs on 9V regulated DC only, with a 2.1mm center negative barrel plug. There is no battery option, so it needs a pedalboard power supply or a wall adapter.
Where to buy it
Red Witch sells the Euphorium exclusively through its own site and Sweetwater, at a list price of $2691. Orders placed with Red Witch ship free anywhere in the world via an express tracked service, with duty and tariffs paid by Red Witch1.

Questions
Is the Red Witch Euphorium true bypass?
Yes. Red Witch specifies a true bypass footswitch rated for over 100,000 cycles, so the pedal passes your clean signal unaltered when it is switched off. It runs on 9 volt regulated DC through a 2.1mm barrel plug with tip negative polarity, drawing only 5 milliamps.
What does the Grain control do on the Euphorium?
Grain sets how smooth or how sputty the fuzz is. It draws on the sputter control from Red Witch's Fuzz God series. Dialing it back gates the signal, with more gating and sputtiness below 12 o'clock, which lets you push the pedal toward broken, sputtering vintage fuzz textures.
What does Bliss mode do on the Euphorium?
The Euphorium contains two independent fuzz circuits. Flipping the Bliss toggle engages the second circuit and places the two in series, stacking them for a heavier, more saturated fuzz voice than either circuit alone. With Bliss off, you are running a single fuzz circuit.
Where is the Red Witch Euphorium made?
Red Witch builds the Euphorium in New Zealand. It is housed in a diecast enclosure with machined aluminum knobs unique to the Apothecary series and a color-matched LED. Registering the pedal gives the owner a lifetime warranty on the electronics and mechanisms.
