The Wyatt Audio Heiress is a fuzz pedal built in the Fuzz Face style, but with a two-stage hybrid circuit: a Q1 silicon BC183 transistor combined with a switchable Q2 germanium MP10B. That second transistor can be selected in or out, giving the player two transistor flavors in one box. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson, reviewing it in August 2026, described it as "a 7-controls, 2-Stage Hybrid Fuzz Face style fuzz"1. It sits in the wider family of Fuzz Pedals, alongside gated, Velcro, germanium and silicon takes on the effect.
Controls
The Heiress carries seven controls, which is a lot for a Fuzz Face style pedal, where the original design famously had just two. The controls are FREQ (tone), NOISE (fuzz), a G2 transistor selector switching between the germanium MP10B and silicon BC183, LEVEL, a BASS switch with Cut and Stock positions, and a LOAD control for Q11.
| Control | Function |
|---|---|
| FREQ | Tone1 |
| NOISE | Fuzz1 |
| G2 | Transistor selector: Ge MP10B / Si BC1831 |
| LEVEL | Output level1 |
| BASS | Cut / Stock1 |
| LOAD | Q11 |
What it sounds like
The two transistors give the player a choice of character. In Guitar Pedal X's review, "Q1 sets the core's wiry, searing character; Germanium warms and opens it subtly"1. The reviewer found the germanium switch relatively subtle but wholly worth it, and preferred the germanium transistor's overall sound and the transistor options it brings1.
The VOLTS control is the pedal's other distinctive feature. As the review puts it, "VOLTS adds dying-battery Rasp, Velcro and Spittiness"1, meaning the kind of degraded, spluttering fuzz tones associated with a battery running down, without needing to actually starve the pedal of power.
"this is a superb sounding fuzz for sure - every which way"
Price and availability
As of 2026-08-17, the price was £189 ($255)1. Wyatt Audio also makes the Wyatt Audio Kozel Fuzz, a mid-size Big Muff style fuzz that Guitar Pedal X reviewed later the same month1.
