Aclam announces Woman Tone pedal emulating Clapton's Cream-era tone

Aclam has announced the Woman Tone pedal, a stompbox designed to emulate Eric Clapton's Cream-era tones, Guitar World reported on July 5, 20221. The Barcelona-based pedal and board maker pairs overdrive with a humbucker pickup simulation circuit1.
The Woman Tone knob acts like a guitar's tone control, rolling off treble as it turns left1. A built-in pickup simulator lets the pedal act more like an SG circuit with a PAF pickup, and it is buffered to react consistently across pickup types and effects chain placement1. Volume and Gain controls sit alongside it1. The right footswitch engages the pedal; the left footswitch activates the Woman Tone dial, switching in and out of the pedal's default Plexi-style sound1. An internal DIP switch selects a darker or brighter tonal bias1.
The enclosure carries artwork by Marijke Koger, leader of The Fool art collective and the artist who decorated Clapton's original "The Fool" SG1. Guitar World described Clapton's Woman Tone as created with a 1964 Gibson SG Standard, a 1966 Marshall JTM45 and a Marshall 1960B cabinet, citing Cream's "Sunshine Of Your Love," which used the SG's volume on 10 and tone on 11.
The pedal retails for 296.70 euros, approximately $3101.
A Guitar Player review by Dave Hunter described the pedal as a Plexi-voiced overdrive first and foremost, with gain and volume controls, an overdrive footswitch with its own LED, and a Woman Tone switch that functions only when the overdrive is on2. The review listed true-bypass switching, a center-negative 9VDC adaptor input, input and output on the front face, dimensions of 5.25 by 3.25 by 1.875 inches excluding feet and knobs, and assembly in Spain2. Hunter wrote that he tested it with a Gibson 1959 Les Paul Reissue and an early '60s-style Fender Stratocaster into a tweed Deluxe-style 1x12 combo and a Friedman Dirty Shirley Mini head and 2x12 cab2. The review's drawbacks list included: "Some may find it pricey for what it does"2.
