Old Blood Noise Endeavors released the IOTA, a tone generator and note sequencer, on November 4, 2026, alongside the Float V2. Guitar Pedal X describes the IOTA as "not a guitar effects pedal, but rather a tone generator / synthesizer working from a core oscillator"1. Mixdown reports it is the Oklahoma City company's first standalone synth, monophonic and in a pedal-sized box, with no input at all: instead of processing a guitar, it sends its own sequences out through the rest of a pedalboard2.
Sequences run from five to 60 notes, built from a root note, scale intervals and an octave, in Root, Scale or Preset mode2. Direction options are forward, reverse, bounce (pendulum) and random (shuffle)1. Scramble shuffles the note order and holds it until switched off, and there are sixteen skip patterns plus a random skip probability3. The oscillator has three wave shapes: mid-focus, gritty sine and chiptune1. The envelope section offers three shapes, three lengths and a mix control, alongside oscillator volume, white noise blend, octave -1/+1, glide, swing and bend/pitch vibrato12. Holding AUX while moving the Rate knob gives speed fractions or multipliers from ÷4 to x41.
The IOTA has 12 onboard presets and 127 available via MIDI, MIDI in and out on 3.5 mm TRS type A with clock, note and CC, expression control over any combination of knobs saved per preset, and firmware updates over USB-C3. It runs on an optional 9V DC center-negative supply drawing about 85mA3. It is designed by Andy Othling and hand-made in Oklahoma, USA, and comes in Zenith Silver, Vintage Yellow and Groovy Blue12. A matching Iota Ramper expression pedal was also released2.
"The IOTA Tone Generator / Note Sequencer goes for just $329 / €385 / £339 ... Available now at leading International Dealers."
Guitar Pedal X calls it "very evidently a table-top instrument rather than a floor-based stompbox" and "really not for the guitar community," since it has no interaction with a guitar1. Mixdown reports it is pitched as much at tabletop setups as at floor rigs2. The Float V2, released alongside it, is an updated version of OBNE's dual analog filter that now has MIDI, presets and an AUX footswitch2.
