The Alexander Pedals Rewind was published on September 18, 2023, as the new flagship multi-mode delay in the builder's line, replacing the History Lesson¹. The History Lesson had 6 modes against the Rewind's 10, and the Rewind belongs to Alexander's Leap series¹.

The pedal is a compact digital stereo echo with an OLED display for recall of every parameter²¹. Alexander lists ten delay engines: TAPE, ANALOG, DIGITAL, PITCH, DUAL, DIFFUSE, REVERSE, DYNAMIC, FILTER and LO-FI². The DUAL engine runs two parallel delay lines with 625ms of echo time each, and the REVERSE engine has a delay time of 2.5 seconds². The DSP is an FXCore, which Alexander says has more than 8 times the processing power of its previous Neo Series pedals²¹.

Presets number 32, in four banks of 8, all accessible on the pedal without external controls; holding the Bypass/Preset footswitch selects the next preset, and holding both footswitches selects the previous². The reverb and delay trails can be set to hard bypass, full trails or auto trails². A MultiJack takes an expression pedal, footswitch or MIDI controller, and EXP Morph controls all knobs from an expression pedal, the ramp footswitch or MIDI². The input jack is selectable for mono or TRS stereo without opening the pedal, and the outputs can run mono, two-cable stereo or TRS stereo². A USB port handles firmware updates and USB MIDI².

The price is $249.99². Alexander describes the pedal as a reimagining of its flagship delay platform².

The Rewind sits alongside other delay pedals from Alexander. Delicious Audio reports that the Rewind mixes updated engines from the History Lesson with four new ones¹.
