Analog Music Company announces SHSL Mk3 preamp and filter pedal

Delicious Audio reported on November 22, 2024 the Analog Music Company SHSL Mk3, a preamp and filter pedal. SHSL stands for "So High So Low"1.
The pedal is a preamp design inspired by two other devices, according to Delicious Audio: "the pleasantly colored preamp section of the Moogerfooger pedals by Moog, and the high-pass/low-pass filters found on the vintage KORG MS-20"1. A Pedal of the Day write-up from November 2023 describes the same circuit basis, "based on the high-pass/low-pass filter inspired by an MS-20 filter and a Moogerfooger preamp"2.
The two filters have separate cutoff and resonance controls, and Delicious Audio notes the resonance "is prone to self-oscillation after the 12 o'clock position"1. Pedal of the Day, quoting Analog Music Company's feature list, says the filters are arranged in series and that "Past the oscillation point each filter begins to self oscillate and can be used as a CV controlled oscillator"2. The pedal has two CV inputs and two expression inputs, one for each filter1. Per the maker's list, the CV inputs allow control from external controllers such as the Korg SQ-1 or Arturia devices and sync with modular or semi-modular systems, and the expression inputs allow control with an expression pedal2.
The maker's control list gives the Master knob as overall output volume and the Preamp/Saturation knob as adding gain from the preamp section, which the maker says "produces a darker, full-bodied, and saturated sound"2. Delicious Audio describes the Preamp/Saturation knob as adding slight distortion while darkening the tone, and says that with the Master knob "it can push the amp into the edge of breakup"1. The maker's list also covers the High Pass and Low Pass cutoff controls and the Resonance High and Resonance Low controls, which increase amplification around each filter's cutoff point and begin to oscillate beyond the OSC Point2.
"The pre section can operate in array of modes from light saturation to pushing the amp into overdrive/distortion territory."
