Beetronics announced the Octahive v2 High Octave Buzz on June 27, 2023, a new version of its OctaHive fuzz and octave pedal¹²³. MusicRadar reported a US retail price of $199¹; Guitar World also gave $199³.

The pedal has two switchable modes, Buzzz and Octave¹². MusicRadar described Buzzz as offering "ferocious high-gain fuzz for powerful chords" and Octave as taking the player on "a mind-bending psychedelic journey"¹. Guitar World reported that the circuit is based on the Tycobrahe Octavia and that the v2 shrinks one of the maker's first pedals into a new Babee Series compact footprint³. Guitar.com reported that the v2 retains the circuitry and sonic characteristics of the original².

Controls are Pre, Honey and Volume⁴². Guitar.com said the dials control the level before the circuit, gain and master volume respectively², and Guitar World described them as input volume, gain and master volume, now positioned on the rear panel³. Players switch modes by double-tapping the footswitch, or hold it for momentary switching⁴³. Three footswitch profiles set the response time: Fast (20ms), Medium (100ms) or Lazy (250ms)⁴²³. Beetronics lists 9V DC center-negative power, roughly 50mA draw, true bypass, dimensions of about 4.5" x 2.5" x 2.25" and a weight of approximately 0.8 lbs⁴.

Guitar World reported that the octave on/off toggle formerly on the right side of the unit is now incorporated into the central footswitch, and that the pedals are assembled by hand in California³.
