Behringer announces Chorus Symphony chorus pedal modeled on Boss CE-1

Behringer announced the Chorus Symphony, a chorus pedal styled after the Boss CE-1 from 1976, in late January 2025. Gearnews reported the release on January 29¹; Guitar World reported it on January 30² and MusicRadar on January 31³. Guitar World said Behringer first announced a CE-1 clone in 2022².

The pedal uses an all-analog bucket brigade device (BBD) circuit, as the original did¹². Like the CE-1, it is mono in and stereo out¹, and it has two outputs so it can run in mono or stereo³. It has two footswitches: one bypasses the effect, the other switches between chorus and vibrato¹³. An internal dip switch changes the bypass between buffered and true bypass¹².

Controls are a level control for input level, a chorus intensity knob and two controls for the vibrato effect¹. MusicRadar said the Chorus Intensity dial adjusts chorus speed and depth together, with separate dials for the same vibrato parameters³. A low/high switch selects input impedance, and a peak level LED glows red when the signal clips¹. MusicRadar said the pedal can also be used as a preamp for the harmonic saturation of the original Jazz Chorus amps, and that the dip switch can bypass this effect³. Guitar World said the Speed and Depth controls have been streamlined into one dial and that the pedal is housed in a full metal enclosure².

Gearnews gave the price as 79 Euros, available to order from Thomann, with availability in a few months¹. Guitar World gave $79², and MusicRadar gave $79³.

Gearnews said the Chorus Symphony is Behringer's sixth vintage-style guitar pedal since the Fuzz Bender in November¹. MusicRadar said the original CE-1 was released in 1976 and was the first pedal to feature the chorus effect introduced in Roland's JC-120 and JC-60 Jazz Chorus amplifiers a year earlier³.
