Boss released its January 2025 Model Passes for the PX-1 Plugout FX, adding the OD-2 TURBO OverDrive, DM-2 Delay and DC-2 Dimension C1. The passes were the first set of three released for the pedal, ahead of a May 2026 trio and a September 2026 trio1.
The Boss PX-1 is a compact pedal that holds a fixed library of eight effects and eight further downloadable slots2. The fixed eight are the OD-1 Over Drive, PH-1 Phaser, SP-1 Spectrum, DS-1 Distortion, CS-1 Compression Sustainer, TW-1 T Wah, SG-1 Slow Gear and SD-1 SUPER OverDrive2. The downloadable eight, loaded through the Boss Effect Loader app after registering the pedal with a free Roland Account, are the CE-2 Chorus, BF-2 Flanger, OC-2 Octave, VB-2 Vibrato, DD-2 Digital Delay, DF-2 SUPER Feedbacker & Distortion, PS-2 Digital Pitch Shifter/Delay and PN-2 Tremolo/Pan2.
Guitar Pedal X reported that the first eight models are fixed and cannot be removed or reordered, and that each newly downloaded model replaces the oldest of the eight downloadable slots1. It also reported that the Dimension effect is available on the PX-1, the DC-2W and the MD-500, but not on the GT-1000 or EX-41.
"January 2025 added OD-2, DM-2 and DC-2"
Boss describes the PX-1 as giving "guitarists of all styles and levels access to a spectacular array of vintage, rare, and classic BOSS effects," and says its engineers in Japan are continuing to develop optional Model Passes2. Neither source gave a price for the January 2025 Model Passes.
