Caroline announces Kilobyte 2000 lo-fi delay pedal

April 10, 2025 · 2 sources

Caroline announced the Kilobyte 2000, a new version of its lo-fi delay pedal, on April 10, 2025, according to Delicious Audio1. The pedal is described as the evolution of the Kilobyte, which the site says was introduced in 20131.

The circuit is based on the PT-2399 chip1. Alongside the Drive, Level, Time and Feedback knobs, the Kilobyte 2000 adds three smaller controls: Sharpness, which adjusts preamp gain and tone; Modulation, which adds modulation to the repeats; and Havoc Amount, which sets the intensity of the momentary Havoc effect triggered by the right footswitch1.

Two further additions are an FX loop that lets users process only the repeats or achieve a fully wet output, and an upgraded "invader" repeater preamp that boosts repeats up to 5x louder while keeping the dry signal pristine1. Tap tempo and trails bypass are also included1.

Delicious Audio's report gives no price or ship date for the Kilobyte 20001. The earlier Megabyte, a 2020 upgrade to the Kilobyte, was reported at $199.99 with two PT2399 chips and 1200ms of delay time2.
