Catalinbread has released the Tremol8, a tremolo pedal with eight selectable programs and a parallel reverb, for $219¹². Guitar World reported the unveiling on May 11, 2023, and MusicRadar reported it on May 12, 2023¹².

The pedal has four knobs: Rate, Tone, Space and Mix, plus an eight-way rotary dial for program selection¹. Rate controls the speed of the tremolo, Tone is a high-pass filter between the tremolo and reverb sections, Space adjusts the parallel reverb mix, and Mix sets the wet/dry balance¹³. According to MusicRadar, the Space knob controls chorus depth in the sine wave with chorus program². The eight programs are Sine Wave, Sine Wave with Long Reverb, Square Wave, Sawtooth Wave, "Showman" Harmonic, Sine Wave with Chorus, Envelope, and Ring Mod¹. Each program changes the function of the Rate, Tone or Space knob¹. In Envelope mode, the Rate knob controls envelope sensitivity and Tone adjusts attack and release².

Inside the pedal, accessible by removing the backplate, are an adjustable gain trimmer and a buffer switch¹³. The trimmer adds gain to the signal, and the buffer switch changes the pedal from its factory buffered trails mode to true bypass¹³. The Tremol8 runs on 9V to 18V power; Catalinbread says 18V provides more output, a dry signal boost and increased headroom¹.

Guitar World reported that the pedal was born from an effort to digitally replicate the "harmonic vibrato" of the Fender Showman, and that the project led Catalinbread to add more tremolo styles and reverbs¹. MusicRadar reported that the "Showman" Harmonic mode is based on a 1960 Fender Showman².

The US list price is $219¹².
