CopperSound Pedals released the Strategy V2 on July 1, 2022, according to MusicRadar and Guitar World, both publishing that day. The Massachusetts builder describes it as a two-channel preamp and overdrive design that advances the blueprint of its earlier Strategy preamp and boost¹²³.

The circuit is built around what the company calls an audiophile-grade Burr Brown op amp¹²³. In preamp mode it can deliver from unity gain to a 30dB boost, and a two-way mini-toggle on the rear panel engages an overdrive mode that adds grit to the signal¹². Guitar World reports that the overdrive mode adds grit at lower levels and gets progressively dirtier as the volume knob is turned up². A large LED indicator changes from blue to yellow depending on whether the pedal is in preamp or overdrive mode². Tone shaping comes from Strat-style volume and tone pots²; MusicRadar describes a simple tone pot with a wide sweep¹.

The pedal runs from 9 to 18 volts with 60mA consumption¹³. It uses CopperSound's Smart-Bypass, a relay-based true bypass switching design: stomping the switch latches the pedal on, while holding it for 300 milliseconds or more activates a momentary mode that disengages the effect when the switch is released, a function that can be turned off with an internal DIP switch¹. Guitar World describes the switching as offering true bypass and both latching and momentary options².

CopperSound offers free customization of the finish, pickguard, knobs and hardware color, and Guitar World reports it will match a guitar's finish at no additional charge¹². The Strategy V2 is available now for $279².
