Crazy Tube Circuits released the Rapture, a standalone overdrive taken from the drive section of its Triptychon multi-fuzz and multi-gain pedal, following player requests1. Guitar Pedal X reported the release on October 20, 2026, five-and-a-half months after the Triptychon1.
The Rapture is a low to mild overdrive built around the response of a tube amplifier at its sweet spot, with what the maker describes as natural compression, harmonic development, touch sensitivity and a gradual transition from clean to breakup2. The maker says it keeps the Triptychon's drive voice at its core and adds two interactive toggle switches that extend headroom, gain structure and clipping response2. With MORE and MOD in their lower positions, the maker says the pedal delivers the exact drive circuit of the Triptychon2.
Guitar Pedal X lists the controls as Master, Drive, Tone, a More switch for more intensity and breakup, and a Mod switch for more headroom and a more open tonality1. The maker says MOD gives a more open response, closer to the feel of extending a tube amplifier's clean headroom by adding another set of power tubes and a beefed up output transformer, and that MORE interacts with both the drive control and the MOD toggle2. The maker describes the two switches as opening up pushed variations of the same core voice rather than separate channels2.
"It retains the original Triptychon’s drive voice at its core"
The maker lists the Rapture as in stock, shipping in 2-3 days, on its site2. Guitar Pedal X reported it as a pre-order on Andertons1. The maker suggests placing it at the beginning or end of a signal chain, before or after other drives, or after time-based effects2.
