Crazy Tube Circuits releases the Triptychon three-stage fuzz, boost and drive pedal

Crazy Tube Circuits launched the Triptychon, a three-stage gain pedal, with Guitar Pedal X publishing a review on April 28, 2026 and MusicRadar reporting the launch on April 30, 202612. Both outlets say the pedal was first teased at NAMM12.
The Triptychon stacks three gain stages1. Stage I is a treble or mids booster, switchable to an octave or a Foxx Tone Machine style harmonic octave1. Stage II offers four silicon fuzz modes: Fuzz Face, Vox Tone Bender, MKI.V Tone Bender and MKII Tone Bender1. MusicRadar describes the fuzz circuits as in the style of a Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face, a Vox Tone Bender, a Sola Sound Tone Bender Mk1.5 and a Sola Sound Tone Bender MkII2. Stage III is an op-amp drive and saturator intended to replicate a pushed amp or an amp at the point of breakup1.
Stages I and II use an array of six piggy-backed metal-can silicon transistors, with further transistors in secondary roles1. MusicRadar describes a custom six metal-can silicon transistor circuit tweaked for the temperature-resistant reliability of silicon with the touch-sensitivity of germanium2. The pedal has buffer switches for placement and a switchable anti-buffer circuit to correct impedance for active pickups or buffered pedals placed in front of it12. Three internal trim pots are intended for factory setup only1.
An optional remote footswitch, called the XT footswitch by MusicRadar, controls the drive stage independently and sells separately12. Guitar Pedal X says the pedal should be reaching international dealers1.
"This allows deeper control over the gain structure, seamless switching between configurations, and greater flexibility without increasing pedalboard complexity"

Guitar Pedal X's reviewer writes that the pedal is not always the easiest to dial in, particularly when triple-stacking, and that the Fuzz Face and Vox Tone Bender modes are the easiest to dial in1. The reviewer calls the fuzz cleanup exceptional, a little less so with all three gain stages running, and places the pedal in a personal Top 10 Fuzz list1.
