Darkglass launches Anagram bass amp modeler and multi-effects platform

April 1, 2025 · 3 sources

Darkglass Electronics announced the Anagram, a flagship bass platform, on April 22, 202512. The company describes it as a multi-effects and amp modeler built for bassists, and it is the first product in what the maker calls a new platform12.

The unit runs on a hexacore processor with 32-bit/48kHz audio processing, which Darkglass says delivers ultra-low latency12. Its blocks-based architecture builds signal chains in series (12 blocks) or parallel (24 blocks) on a high-resolution touch display12. Three control modes, Preset, Scene and Stomp, handle whole-rig switching, parameter changes and pedalboard-style operation12. Darkglass lists a curated set of preamps, more than 50 customizable effects, a looper, a tuner and user-generated IR support, plus integration with the Darkglass Suite software and Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) capture support12. The chassis is anodized aluminum, and the unit can be powered by 9V or USB-C (PD)12.

A Guitar World review of a later limited edition lists the hardware as six assignable rotary controls, three footswitches and a 7-inch color touchscreen, with XLR outputs 1 and 2, 1/4-inch outputs 3 and 4, an effects loop, headphone and MIDI mini-jacks and USB-C3. That review gives power as 9-12V DC at 2A, dimensions of 210mm x 105mm x 62mm (8.2" x 4.1" x 2.4") and a weight of 815g (1.8lbs)3. It notes the expression input uses the effects loop return3.

Prices differ between the sources. The announcement gives a price of $1199.9912; the Guitar World review gives a launch price of $1,2993.

"Anagram represents the culmination of years of research and development"
