Darkglass announced the Duality DFZ, a new version of its Duality fuzz, in late November 2022. MusicRadar reported the pedal on November 291; Guitar World reported it on December 12. MusicRadar called it "a comeback of sorts from the original Duality Dual Fuzz"1, and Guitar World described it as "a new iteration of its Duality fuzz"2.
The Darkglass Duality DFZ packs two discrete fuzz circuits into one enclosure, as the original did12. Darkglass describes the two voices as "a gated saw-tooth wave and a raunchy high-gain sound"12. MusicRadar reports that the circuits can be mixed together1. Guitar World reports that a stacked rotary control sets output and blends between the two circuits, and that internal controls for more blend and filter options are reached through a cavity on the underside of the pedal2. MusicRadar reports that the controls are more streamlined than on the original, centered on a central rotary control1.
Guitar World reports that the pedal shares the same design footprint as the company's Microtubes B1K Overdrive2. MusicRadar describes it as a compact pedal1.
"The stacked rotary control lets you tweak the output and then blend between the two separate fuzz circuits"
Both publications report the pedal as available now12. Neither report gives a US list price.
