Death By Audio announces Crossover Fuzz dual-band stereo fuzz pedal
August 19, 2025 · 4 sources
Death By Audio announced the Crossover Fuzz, a dual-band stereo fuzz pedal, in August 2025. Delicious Audio published a report on August 191, Guitar Pedal X on August 202, and Gearnews on August 213.
The pedal splits the input into two filtered fuzz circuits: a low-pass fuzz for the lows and a high-pass fuzz for the highs143. Each band has its own Gain and Level controls123. A Frequency knob sets the crossover point between the two filters, and a Resonance control runs from subtle emphasis to self-oscillation, according to the reports123.
| Specification | Detail |
|---|---|
| Controls | Frequency crossover point, Resonance; Highs Volume and Gain; Lows Volume and Gain2 |
| Ports | High Input, Low Input, Frequency Crossover Point Expression, Highs (Mono) output, Lows output, 9V DC [-]2 |
| Power | 9V DC center-negative, about 120 mA, PSU not included2 |
| Display | 8-segment LED showing the crossover threshold, with an internal switch for two color sets2 |
| Expression | Expression pedal or 0-5V external CV control of filter frequency2 |
| Build | Top-mounted jacks, hand-made in New York, USA2 |
Separate inputs and outputs for the high and low bands allow stereo setups, bass separation, or sending each band to a different amp, and jack normalization keeps the pedal usable in a mono rig12. Guitar Pedal X lists the price at $320 direct from the Death By Audio webstore2. Gearnews gives $409 at Thomann3; the two figures differ.
Guitar Pedal X's reviewer wrote of the concept and sound:
"I really like both the concept and sound of this pedal."
Gearnews and Guitar Pedal X also report a Death By Audio Photo Modulator, a light-sensing expression device priced at $3923.
