DigiTech launches MonoNeon signature Whammy with three-octave Hypersonic mode

DigiTech announced the MonoNeon Whammy at NAMM 2025, a signature take on its Whammy developed with MonoNeon, aka Dywane Eric Thomas Jr¹². Guitar World reported on January 23, 2025 that it was DigiTech's first new product since its 2022 takeover by Cort owner Cor-tek¹.

The pedal is based on the fifth-generation Whammy and is intended for guitar and bass²³. Its headline feature is Hypersonic mode, which raises pitch by up to three octaves; MusicRadar reported that existing Whammys have offered two⁴². It also adds an octave blend mode and a reworked Detune section in place of the standard Shallow and Deep settings¹³. A Classic/Chords switch selects between the original Whammy algorithm for single notes and a polyphonic mode for chords²³. The selector knob covers Whammy, Octaver, Harmony and Detune effects, with 10 Whammy settings²³. There is a MIDI input, a built-in expression treadle and a footswitch for engage and bypass¹². The yellow and orange finish glows under black light, and each pedal ships with a customization kit of gaffer tape, stickers and a marker¹².

Pricing was reported differently. Guitar World gave $349.99¹; MusicRadar and Guitar Pedal X gave $349²⁵. A February 2025 DigiTech demo video stated a MAP price of $3.49, which appears to be a mis-transcription⁴. Guitar World reported the pedal available from all DigiTech suppliers at launch¹; MusicRadar said available now².

A June 2025 Guitar.com review by Eric Dahl rated the pedal 9 out of 10 and called it "the most innovative Whammy since the original," while noting the lack of stereo operation⁶.
