DOD has released the Badder Monkey, a reissue of the DigiTech Bad Monkey overdrive, Guitar.com reported in a review published on March 2, 2026. Guitar World had reported the pedal on December 9, 2025, describing it as a new-and-improved overdrive from the DigiTech/DOD brands, which it said were acquired and revived by the Cort owner in 20221.

The Badder Monkey keeps the original Bad Monkey circuit and adds two more, Behaved and Badder, which can be mixed in parallel through a patent-pending Barrel blend control1. Guitar.com describes the barrel as a patent-pending continuously-rotational potentiometer that blends between the three variants: Behaved is a smoother, more tonally subdued version, Badder is more chaotic and aggressive, and Bad is the original circuit2. A middle toggle switch selects a "troop" mode that engages all three circuits in parallel, and can also set the blend out of phase21.

The controls are named Bananas and Curiosity for gain and volume, and Mood is a concentric EQ control with Screech and Grunt for treble and bass2. Guitar World lists a two-sided StagePlate back panel, with a rubber skid pad on one side and a pre-installed hook pad for hook and loop fastenings on the other1. Guitar.com places the pedal in the standard DOD single-stompbox format2.

The two outlets give different US prices. Guitar World reported the Badder Monkey as available now for $1591. Guitar.com listed it at $1492.

"Behaved is a smoother, more tonally subdued variant of the pedal, while Badder is a more chaotic and aggressive version, Bad is simply the original circuit"
Guitar.com2

Guitar.com described the original circuit as essentially a Tube Screamer-derived design with the addition of a two-band active EQ, and called the Badder Monkey "a fantastic and versatile drive"2. It rated the pedal 10 out of 10 and listed a slightly confusing control scheme, particularly the volume and gain naming, among its negatives2.
