Donner and Third Man Hardware, the company founded by Jack White, have collaborated on the Triple Threat, an analog multi-effects pedal combining distortion, phaser and echo12. It was shown at NAMM in January 2024 and reported in February and March 202412.
The pedal combines three analog circuits in one metal enclosure2. The distortion is described as high gain, with volume, gain and tone controls2. The phaser is based on Donner's Pearl Tremor and has extended modulation controls12. The echo is derived from the Yellow Fall Delay, Donner's first pedal from 2013, and is described as having a warm analog tone and rich feedback12. The pedal has a true bypass switch and a standard 9V DC power jack2. Third Man Hardware's patterns, including lightning bolts, stripes and diagrams, appear on the panel and sides2.
The standard black version is $99, and a limited edition yellow version is $1291. MusicRadar reported the pedal could be ordered direct from the Third Man store1. Delicious Audio described it as designed for beginner guitar players who want to experiment with various sounds and styles2.
White said he had wanted to get involved with an affordable multi-effect pedal for a while:
"when I approached Donner they knew what I was aiming for and we were able to make something very cool that was also not going to break the bank for a beginning musician."
