DryBell releases Unit67, its first non-vibe pedal

June 19, 2024 · 1 sources

DryBell released the Unit67 on June 19, 2024, describing it as its first non-vibe product. The Croatian manufacturer had until then concentrated on Uni-Vibe pedal recreations, according to Delicious Audio's introduction of the pedal quoted in DryBell's press review page1.

The Unit67 combines three circuits: a tunable boost, an EQ section and a compression circuit modeled on the Urei/Universal Audio 1176 compressor/limiter. DryBell says each circuit cascades into the next1. Guitar World's review, quoted on the same page, describes the boost as Rangemaster-style1. Bonedo's review notes that the compressor/limiter section has fixed attack and release settings1. Andy Martin's Reverb article, also quoted there, notes an EQ switch that takes the EQ in and out1.

"Everything changed today, with the release of their first non-vibe product called Unit67, a utility pedal that, knowing the company's designing rigor, promises to be a very useful and great sounding tool."

The Unit67 is listed at USD 289.00 in silver, with a red edition also shown; a B-stock silver unit is listed at USD 245.651. DryBell's page does not give dimensions or power requirements.

Reviewers quoted on the page received the pedal favorably. Premier Guitar gave it a "Premier Gear" badge, Guitar Magazine an "Editor's Choice" badge and Guitar World a Platinum Award1. Among players, Richard Fortus of Guns N' Roses is quoted saying he has it in his A rig, and Pete Thorn calls it "a secret sauce magic always on kind of thing"1.
