Electronic Audio Experiments puts Dagger on indefinite hiatus

Electronic Audio Experiments put the Dagger on indefinite hiatus in February 2024, according to the pedal's product page, which the company said is retained for archival purposes1.
The Dagger is an overdrive that the maker describes as "a simplified and miniaturized iteration of our Longsword op amp drive." The company says it streamlined the circuit into its core gain stages and a dual band shelving EQ, and that the pedal is "a great fit for smaller pedal boards" as well as standing "on its own as a unique drive pedal"1.
Controls are Volume, Drive, Low/High and a Shift toggle. The maker lists Low/High as a James/Baxandall tone stack with shelving filters, and describes Shift as adjusting the low frequency contour, with up producing a thicker sound and down a tighter one1.

| Specification | Detail |
|---|---|
| Size/Weight | 121mm x 66mm x 40mm, 0.4kg |
| Bypass | Relay switching with true bypass |
| Input impedance @ 1 Khz | 500kΩ |
| Output impedance @ 1 Khz | <25K (passive volume control) |
| Power | 9-18V DC, 2.1 mm center negative barrel |
| Current draw | 50 mA |
The maker recommends a regulated, isolated power supply rated for 100 mA minimum, states that the power input is protected against reverse polarity, and says the Dagger can be run at 18V for more headroom and clarity1.
The page's changelog lists V2 as the final version as of July 2021, adding a new mechanical format, soft-touch relay bypass switching, the Shift toggle, more robust power supply and EMI filtering, and updated Low/High EQ points to match the Longsword V4.5 update. It also lists a limited-edition "Dunkin" Dagger from April 2020 with NOS germanium diodes made in Massachusetts, and a V1 released in 2017. The maker notes that early batches before V2 in July 2021 were intended to have variations in clipping diodes, EQ voicing and drive amount, so two units from that era will not necessarily sound alike1.
