Fjord Fuzz splits Dovre into Fjær Spring Reverb and Bjørn Classic Fuzz pedals

September 12, 2025 · 2 sources

Fjord Fuzz split the two halves of its Dovre pedal into separate units, the four-control Fjær Spring Reverb and the Bjørn Classic Fuzz, according to a report published on September 12, 20251. The Dovre is a two-knob fuzz and spring reverb pedal whose two effects are fully separate circuits that can be used separately or stacked, with the fuzz on the right footswitch and the reverb on the left2.

The Fjær carries the spring reverb algorithm with Dry, Wet, Size and Tone controls1. The same algorithm appears on three Fjord Fuzz pedals in order, the MIME II, the Dovre and the Fjær, and each has a different preamp onboard, so each differs in output nuances1. The Bjørn is a 2-transistor Fuzz Face-style fuzz with Gain and Level1. The fuzz element, described as Daniel's 4th or 5th generation take on the 2-transistor Fuzz Face, has been split out to its own standalone pedal, with Fuzz/Gain as well as dB/Level where the Dovre has just a Master Volume1. The same fuzz circuit with the same Level and Gain controls also appears on the Midnattssol Fuzz-Vibe1.

The Bjørn, Fjær and Frei introduce new Fjord Fuzz enclosure facia styles, for the first time with silver foil labels and legends, using a font called ELZA, mostly in hammered enclosure designs1.
