Gamechanger Audio announces the Noise Pedal, a stereo noise-based effects unit

October 29, 2026 · 1 sources

Gamechanger Audio, based in Riga, Latvia, announced the Noise Pedal - Broadband Signal Multiplier, a stereo noise pedal, on Thursday, October 29, 20261. It is the second pedal in the company's Math Series, which began with the Recoder in late 20251.

The pedal generates white noise and combines it with 30 noise engines to build a distortion section called Noisedrive and a reverb section called Noiseverb1. The Chaos, Strength and Spectrum controls shape the noise before it reaches either section, and changing the engine alters the character of both1. The pedal has 129 presets and a central display1. With a guitar, bass or other instrument connected it works as an effects processor; with nothing connected it becomes a standalone noise generator1.

The noise engines are grouped into families. OSC turns the engine into an oscillator that follows the pitch of the player's notes, using LFSR techniques and noise oscillators; FREQ works in the frequency domain with FFT and spectral modulation, including vocoder and formant shift functions; WAVE works in the time domain with AM, ring modulation, wavefolding and waveshaping1. Noisedrive has Amount, Sustain and Timbre controls, and its own footswitch, which when held engages feedback1.

Noiseverb offers three types: FDN, described as a "feedback delay network"; SPEC, where the noise takes on the instrument's spectrum to produce a reverb made entirely of noise; and RES, which extracts resonances from the peaks of both signal and noise, with a character similar to a phaser1. There are 6 algorithms in total1. Size ranges from short reverbs to near-infinite spaces and can also change the diffusion method; Level sends either the clean instrument signal or the Noisedrive-processed signal to the reverb, and works even when Noisedrive is off; Shape acts as a ducking or pre-delay control; Density moves from subtle textures to more saturated tones1. The Noiseverb footswitch, held down, engages a Freeze function1.

An infrared optical proximity sensor sits between the two footswitches and can be assigned to any combination of controls, so one gesture can change noise, distortion and reverb at once; pressing both footswitches together turns the sensor on or off1. Audio inputs and outputs are true stereo, with separate left and right jacks1. A USB-C port handles firmware updates and PC and CC messages, and MIDI runs over a TRS minijack connector, which also allows a MIDI keyboard to be connected, with the noise engines acting as a paraphonic noise synth1.

Preorders close on November 23, with shipping expected in January 20271. The US price is $249 plus taxes1. Orders placed by November 15 include a unit signed and numbered by the Math Series team1.

"La idea central es generar ruido blanco y combinarlo con 30 motores de ruido distintos para construir una distorsión (el Noisedrive ) y una reverb ( Noiseverb )"
