Gamechanger Audio announces PLUS Pedal II sustain pedal

July 8, 2026 · 2 sources

Gamechanger Audio announced the PLUS Pedal II on July 8, a redesign of its sustain pedal built around a new sound engine1. The company described it as "a comprehensive redesign of its best-selling sustain instrument"1. First units ship in August, and orders placed by July 12 will be signed and personalized1.

The pedal's core is what the company calls Spectral Sampling, which it describes as "an entirely new algorithm that combines real-time audio capture with spectral resynthesis to preserve the true timbre, dynamics, harmonics, and character of any input signal"1. A new Auto Layer Catch mode monitors incoming audio, identifies new note events and adds them to the active sustain pool automatically, so the player can rest a foot on the brass pedal and play without triggering each layer1. A LAYERS knob sets the active layer count from one sustained note to ten simultaneous harmonic layers, or Infinite Mode, in which the engine folds older layers into new ones for continuous stacking1.

The control set includes CATCH and HOLD switches, separate RISE and DECAY knobs for each layer's fade-in and fade-out, and TONE and RESONANCE controls for filtering and harmonic resonance on the sustained signal1. A combo XLR/TS input with a built-in microphone preamp allows instruments or microphones to connect directly1. An integrated send/return effects loop has a three-position routing switch placing external effects before the engine, inside the sustained layers only, or after the combined output1. An optional external footswitch adds WET, LATCH and HIDE modes1. A circular LED display shows active layers1.

Guitar Pedal X reports digital audio at 44.1kHz, 24-bit, 9V DC power with a 500mA minimum draw, dimensions of 90 x 195 x 72mm and a weight of 995g2. It lists the microphone preamp as for dynamic microphones only, with no phantom power, and gain up to +27dB2. It also lists USB-C for USB-MIDI and firmware updates2.

"The result is sustain that feels natural and immediately responsive, capturing the expressive nuances of a performance rather than simply freezing audio in place"

The PLUS Pedal II is priced at 399 USD1. Guitar Pedal X lists the optional footswitch at 79 USD2.
