GUP Tech has updated the design of its 1982 Douche Edition distortion pedal, according to a note on the pedal's product page dated 2025-02. The maker says the circuit is unchanged and the change is cosmetic.
The page states: "2025-02 : Updated design, same circuits with an updated Vintage look!"1
The 1982 Douche Edition is a distortion the maker describes as "our tribute of the RAT and DRV," and says it "sounds very similar to a RAT"1. The maker says the pedal's Cut control "act like the Filter of the RAT and you can get a creamy tone with drive at about 6-8"1. GUP Tech says the pedal's internal charge pump converts an external 9V supply to 18Vdc, that power consumption is 16mA, and that it requires 9Vdc center negative power only, warning that "Anything higher will blow some stuffs"1. The maker says the pedal is named after its designer Emilie's birth year, 19821.
The Douche Edition is listed in purple and shown as sold out1. A separate 1982 RAT Tribute Distortion page carries the same 2025-02 design note and the same circuit description, is listed in yellow and black, and is shown in stock2. GUP Tech says all of its pedals are made by the company in Saguenay, Québec, Canada12.
