The Hudson Electronics Broadcast-AP has been updated to a dual-channel version named the Broadcast AP-II, Delicious Audio reported on February 19, 20261. The AP-II is an evolution of the original design, which Hudson built in collaboration with guitarist and singer-songwriter Ariel Posen1.

The AP-II doubles the channels and places them in series, each with its own footswitch1. Channel one, with gray knobs, is silicon based and delivers the tone of the original Broadcast, described as smooth and slightly dark1. Channel two, with red knobs, is transformerless and replaces the silicon with a germanium transistor, for a brighter and more aggressive tone1. Both circuits can produce extended saturation gain covering medium gain overdrive, and beyond when cascading into each other1. An FX loop allows other pedals to be added between the two channels1.

The original AP used a silicon transistor in place of the standard Broadcast's germanium one, in conjunction with an OEP transformer, for what Hudson described as a "smoother, more powerful tone compared to the standard version"1. Its control layout had LEVEL and GAIN TRIM potentiometers and a switchable high-pass / low-cut filter at 100Hz @ 6dB/oct1. The GAIN TRIM control had 12dB more gain than the low-gain side of the standard Broadcast, and an internal trimmer could raise gain further1.

"The AP-II doubles the channels, placing them in series with separate footswitches."

MusicRadar reported in December 2023 that the AP-II has an effects loop inserted between both preamp circuits, a dual send and return loop, and four internal trim pots for fine-tuning the gain and low-end response of each channel2. It reported each channel has dials for Drive and Level, with germanium on the left and silicon to the right, and that the pedal runs from 9V to 24V DC drawing a maximum of 50mA2. Guitar.com's February 2024 review listed the AP-II at $3993.
